My practice explores ideas of our connection to nature and to our own existence, through the experience of death. Gratitude for our own existence comes from the knowledge of death. Through death we acknowledge our vulnerability, our mortality and the transience of life on this earth.

Birds hold special significance for the human spirit. This body of work represents the process of the bird in death and deterioration. A process just as magnificent and fragile as its life. These small deaths are just as valid for contemplation and representation. The birds are a symbol, as you look and enquire they slowly reveal their essence to you and silently reflect your own essence, existence and being back to you. These works are a temporary manifestation and so too are you.
